“Come Together” is the opening song of Abbey Road, one in which John Lennon more or less sets the album’s tone in warm, albeit sardonic terms. The song’s refrain “come together right now over me” leaves an indelible impression, an inescapable feeling of togetherness expressed in Lennon’s dulcet tones. A similar togetherness takes place on the page in an editorial entitled “Together” running in the fourth issue of Document featuring Maja Salamon and Ehren Dorsey photographed by Christian MacDonald. The Next pair are pictured solo, together, and part of a larger group wearing looks for spring styled by fashion director James Valeri. Shot in a photo studio left half assembled, the portraits convey an intimacy that would otherwise be lost were they shot on a white cyc. Rough as the canvas backdrop and risers appear, they are tempered by the poise and grace of Maja and Ehren and do truly come together.
