Whether or not Vogue is the empire on which the sun never truly sets, what with its 23 national and regional editions in print is neither here nor there. The point is that the empire is strong no matter the frontier whether it be Times Square or Thailand. The August 2014 Thai edition of the Condé Nast glossy serves up a most musical offering starring Patrycja Gardygajlo as female lead in story conducted by photographer Marcin Tyszka. Titled “Hall of Emotions,” this Agnieszka Ścibior-styled story meditates quietly on the sumptuous collections for autumn in the sound-absorbent interior of a music hall. Earth tones predominate, offering a visual echo of the walls peeking behind heavy curtains and acoustic paneling. Amidst the neutral setting, Patrycja’s porcelain skin and strong lip reach into the upper registers where sound is poetry measure after measure, stanza after stanza.
