Accessories — there is just so much to love. There is of course versatility, newness, and the very thingness that makes these luxuries such coveted objects. The Autumn / Winter 2014 issue of Dansk celebrates some of this season’s most sought-after accessories in a crisp black & white story featuring Lida Fox photographed by Rasmus Morgensen. Titled “Objectophilia,” the Juergen Schabes-styled story is refreshingly open about its love for accessories and as such starts out with this season’s Prada shoe. A further handbag, statement necklace, and odd shoe by Miu Miu all bolster the accessories theme from the outset. Strictly speaking object sexuality (from the German Objektophilie) differs from fetishism in ways that are not especially pertinent to this discussion, but suffice it to say there is little daylight between dime store psychology and high fashion as concerns that Prada shoe. Throw in a stunning Lida Fox to broker between the two and a fine editorial in a Danish biannual is the result.
