“The three things that go with me are my family, my pictures, and my books,” explains Next Model Management founder and owner Faith Kates in the Winter 2013 issue of DuJour. “Everything else, it doesn’t matter.” True to her word stands Kates’s recently gut-renovated Upper East Side apartment, a veritable gallery of fine black-white-photography. The catalyst for Kates’s impressive collection was a color print of Marilyn Monroe personally given to her by photographer Bert Stern in exchange for a career-saving booking. Kates has continued collecting fine prints over the years and has amassed a collection that boasts works by Annie Leibovitz, Steven Klein, and the late Corinne Day amongst many others. The real pay-off of this collection, however is the sanctuary it provides Kates after those nearly endless agency workdays. “I love seeing these beautiful pictures.”
