Never mind Nokia’s share of a smartphone market dominated by Apple and Android, that story is best left to Mashable. More interesting is what can be done with the otherwise impressive Windows-operated Nokia Lumia 1020. Take for example the tenth issue of Centrefold, which was shot exclusively using the smartphone. Lily McMenamy features in the issue’s leading editorial photographed by Tung Walsh and it would be no exaggeration to say it is one the smartest series of photos to result from such a telecommunications device. There is a real intimacy to the portraits, which no doubt owes as much to the 41 megapixel camera-phone as it does to the exceptional subject in Lily McMenamy.
