Today’s special. Nay, today is special. That’s right, today is special because of an editorial appearing in the June 2014 issue of Vogue Thailand featuring Crista Cober photographed by Simon Cave in a quintessential American setting — the diner. Two hours north of New York City by car sits the West Taghkanic Diner on Route 82 just off the Taconic State Parkway, the setting for this Morgan Pilcher-styled story aptly titled “American Dreamer.” Crista sports distinctly American looks ranging from denim to fringed leather, the fabrics that in many ways have come to epitomize fashion in the New World long before the f-word even so much as entered the dusty lexicon of American English. There is a deeply alluring quality to this story, one which cannot be solely attributed to the bottomless cup of joe…the allure is in Crista Cober masterfully channeling the American dream. Check please!
