Outside of Henry Ford’s assembly line or Tony Wilson’s Manchester record label, the factory likely has no stronger cultural association than with Andy Warhol’s New York studio known simply as the Factory. Although the Factory sites changed addresses over the years, wherever the Factory opened its doors it came to symbolize the nexus of creativity for Warhol and his coterie. In the August 2014 issue of Interview the Factory serves as the point of departure for a sprawling Peter Lindbergh editorial called “The Factory” featuring Shannon Clagett amongst an expansive cast. Shannon enters the story wearing a mid-sixties inspired coat from the Dsquared² Fall 2014 collection by Dean and Dan Caten. Shot in the evening, Shannon adds a spark of life in what surely will be a highly productive nightshift at “The Factory.”
