LONDON — The brief interlude the followed with the curtain closing on Fashion Week in New York Thursday at Marc Jacobs made the entry into the London section of the ready-to-wear program all the more pronounced. J.W. Anderson presented an excellent collection for Spring 2015 Saturday afternoon at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Those facial-recognition-defying hats will command a lot of attention and for good reason, they are delightful, but there was plenty more to adore. Exaggerated collars, buttons, lapels, and other details were bold, but in no way daft and in fact wearable as a whole. On the afternoon five models at Next including Marta Placzek, Georgia Hilmer, Hedvig Palm, Maja Salamon, and Binx all featured on the runway. If the rest of the week is this good, then London should prove a vintage season.
