LONDON — The British Museum is the home of some of civilization’s greatest treasures from antiquity and beyond. The institution is massive in every sense from its holdings to its neoclassical architecture. On Sunday night the museum’s Great Court served as the site of Jonathan Saunders’s Spring 2015 runway show, which featured a half dozen models at Next including Binx, Georgia Hilmer, Hedvig Palm, Maja Salamon, Lera Tribel, and Dani Witt. As go nights at the museum, the sense of adventure was channeled into the collection, which made ample use of voile. Style.com’s Tim Blanks saw this fabric as giving the collection a certain Japanese flow, which was manifest in “the utilitarian undertow in the plain cottons and stripes and Binx Walton’s grommeted scrubs.”
