Whether or not readers ever mastered the Pythagorean theorem is neither here nor there. Fact is triangles and geometry’s wider family of shapes, angles, points and more have carried on comfortably. Cognizant of this fact, the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK celebrates the dominance of geometric patterns in leading ready-to-wear collections for Fall 2014 in a story featuring Magda Laguinge photographed Erik Madigan Heck. Titled “Shape Up,” the Leith Clark-styled story appropriately enough goes full circle by placing the Argentinian beauty inside said round shape wearing a wool and leather dress by Prada. Elsewhere notable dresses from Christopher Kane, Dior, and Bottega Veneta amongst others make a compelling case for the world of geometry. Never mind that in a right triangle the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the other two sides, the truly memorable moment this season for geometry is how beautifully Magda Laguinge shapes up.
