This month’s issue of Vogue Italia treats readers to an exquisite feast of the very highest order. There are no table settings to be found at this celebration, but rather a 16-page editorial masterclass featuring Malgosia Bela photographed by Craig McDean. “The Story of M,” as it is called, raises the bar for what is possible on a magazine page by marrying the visual work of digital artist Pascal Dangin with portraits of M. The heady amalgam of Malgosia and artistic overlays creates a story that evokes the silver screen at its most cinematic of moments. The story opens with its dramatic lead wearing a dress by Lanvin paired with a Dolce & Gabbana slingback heel. This page and those that follow swirl with dramatic import, a telling of the story of Malgosia in terms as arresting as the iconic subject herself.
