Ptolemy spotted them in the heavens way back in the second century of the Common Era — twins. Lying between Taurus to the west and Cancer to the east, the constellation of Gemini is associated with Castor and Pollux from Greek and Roman mythology, the ur-twins of Western civilization. Fast forward a couple millennia and twins of a different sort are captivating all and sundry with luster all their own. Miranda and Elektra Kilbey, known by their stage names as Say Lou Lou, feature in the latest issue of 10 Magazine. “We are typical Geminis – energetic, up and down, talkative, highly reactive, curious, transient and adaptable, and we can certainly be jealous and brutal,” explain Say Lou Lou in their 10 interview. “But we’ve never ever had any sibling rivalry; we feed off each other and feel boosted when the other is successful and triumphant, and miserable when the other is down and sad.” This connection is part what distinguishes the music of Say Lou Lou and has been the driving force behind the creation of their forthcoming debut album, Lucid Dreaming, set for release on 2 February 2015. That the sisters have already caught the eye of Gucci and H&M bodes well and will no doubt help catapult them even further into the stars.
