When Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn began planning his follow-up to and ultimately departure from Drive (2011) he set his sights on Thailand, the eventual location for Only God Forgives (2013). In that film Bangkok provides the story a hypnotic setting that is at turns beautiful and ferociously violent. There are many sides to Thailand to be sure and to mark the second anniversary of Vogue Thailand, the truly beautiful is just that side as evidenced in a pair of covers featuring a stunning Zuzanna Bijoch photographed by Nat Prakobsantisuk. The corresponding cover story titled “The Grand Voyage” lives up to its billing over 28 pages shot in vivid color in a variety of locations 40 miles (64 km) to the north of Bankgok in Ayutthaya. Zuzanna as ever is radiant, equal in every way to her beautiful surroundings.
