NEW YORK — Never mind that references to the 1990s were likely to be lost on the models bringing to life this not-so-distant past on the runway, the fact is the Rag & Bone Women’s Fall / Winter 2015 collection by David Neville and Marcus Wainwright has considerable legs in the present day. Case in point was Monday night at Spring Studios where Laura Julie and Grace Hartzel presented looks 11 and 14 respectively. Laura Julie’s cropped nylon parka in sulphur especially caught the eye and was readily viewable under the collection’s Instagram hashtag #RBFW15. An original soundtrack by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich channeled less of the “Planet Telex” of old than it did some distant future world that has come to terms with its nineties self lived, imagined, or otherwise.
