PARIS — The one behind the wheel early Tuesday evening at Radio France, the circular building by famed architect Henri Bernard and not the broadcaster on your dial FM dial, was Anthony Vaccarello. The designer’s admirers in fashion run deep and include of course Donatella Versace, who was ever present for the occasion and seated front row showing her support. Vaccarello’s full-time status as designer for Versus was confirmed in January of this year, which speaks of the sort of the authority he brings to creating pulsating clothing. This much was true as models took to the runway that curves along length of Maison de la Radio. There were cut-out stars, fringe, and lots of leather in this collection, which was given a resounding debut by a half dozen models at Next including Grace Hartzel, Binx, Karolin Wolter, Hedvig Palm, Marta Płaczek, and Yana Van Ginneken. Fashion Week in Paris has now begun and how!
