Unless readers were suffering an end-of-month bandwidth crunch last night, then chances are very high they caught a glimpse of something vaguely Chanel running through their scrolling timelines. The storied French house took its Métiers d’Art show on the road and pitched up at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan Tuesday evening to regale invited guests with Karl Lagerfeld’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection for Chanel, which was first shown in Salzburg last December. On the night Georgia Hilmer, Magda Laguinge, Cris Herrmann, Ola Rudnicka, and Binx walked in the show. The latter of the quintet also in a video treatment for the collection, which was produced during a shoot with the designer. Stills from Binx’s shoot also were included as part of every gift bag offered to attendees following the runway show. All told it was a memorable evening that provided New Yorkers a rare close look at a much vaunted collection in the comfort of their own backyard.
