Gigantic spiders, terrifying monsters with a penchant for Japanese, the bikini swimsuit, all were borne of the Atomic Age, an era in which the power of the atom was harnessed to drastically alter scale to ever greater magnitudes. The historical period undoubtedly looks quaint to contemporary eyes, but the emphasis on scale persists to this day. One subject in which scales are completely off the chart is the Family Smiths musical quartet known as The Atomics, which is comprised of Lucky Blue, Pyper America, Queen Starlie, and Daisy Clementine. The four feature in a recent issue of Vanity Fair Italia in a colorful story photographed by Stewart Shining. The friendly family band draws from considerable powers, all of whom by dint of birth have boast a connection that goes beyond music and beyond blood right on down to the atom!
