Seasonality is reversed north and south of the earth’s equator, which is easy enough to understand when the television meteorologist does that funny dance before the chroma-key map. The sun, the clouds, the warm and cold fronts are all very self evident. The complications arise when a magazine from the southern hemisphere releases its latest issue to the world. What season does the publication actually mean? Thankfully for readers the world over New Zealand biannual Black makes seasonality clear as a Friday afternoon in June with one of the covers of its latest issue featuring none other than Sabrina Ioffreda wearing a tan leather coat from the Prada Spring / Summer 2015 collection. Photographed by Paul Empson this cover banishes all doubt about what fashion season the Kiwis are referencing no matter what the local five-day weather forecast says. Sabrina herself looks every bit the part and otherwise frankly unconcerned with season, age, or epoch we’re in presently, she is for all seasons, for all time.
