The title of this beauty story running in the September 2015 issue of Vogue Russia featuring Jenna Earle calls to mind the neurological phenomenon known as synesthesia. “Цветомузыка,” which when literally translated (thanks, Google) means “color music.” The association of color with musical notes (or for that matter any sounds) is the basis of the related condition known as chromesthesia. Long story short, where there is music, there is color. In the case of this feature, where there is color, there is much music. Makeup artist Gemma Smith-Edhouse lays it on thick to create the very textures that in the 17th century made masters out of a handful of blokes from the Netherlands. Underneath it all, however it is Jenna Earle who truly tickles the senses, making the hues harmonious.
