Distinguishing one’s self from the crowd in a city of over eight million people has never been easy, but then again New York never was much of a place for the meek. Rising above the rest in high fashion is arguably an even taller task, but something Lineisy Montero has been doing since she took those career-defining steps onto the Prada runway last season. Lineisy continues that very same stride in the latest issue of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book in a story photographed by Sebastian Faena. Titled “Make Way,” this autumn editorial takes the bustling streets of Gotham as its backdrop. The staging calls to mind the current Miu Miu campaign starring Maddison Brown, but to be sure this black & white story dispenses with era-mixing and other such time-bending and keeps it contemporary and yet undeniably classic. Case in point, Lineisy opens the story (pictured) wearing an all-black ensemble by Burberry. Eyes simply cannot be taken off Lineisy, which with the City having made way is positively sublime.
