NEW YORK — And so it goes…the women’s Spring 2016 ready-to-wear season began in earnest Thursday morning with the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show at an all new location. Gone is the moribund tent village at Lincoln Center and present is the refreshing Skylight at Moynihan Station at 360 33 Street in Manhattan. The skies might have been overcast and drizzly, but California was clearly on the mind of Max Azria for this spring collection. Tye-dyed knits, sweaters, patchwork fabrics, fringe, this collection was utterly defiant in the face early autumn weather. On the morning Olivia Jansing made her runway debut and was joined by the ever radiant Daniela Braga. This is the first day of a long season, steel yourselves, one and all.
