LONDON — The Sunday of Fashion Week in the British capital is the day when the program really takes shape. Coverage for this page began at the Spring 2016 runway show for Preen by Thornton Bregazzi at City Hall, which is situated along the Thames and provides a most spectacular view of London Bridge. The view made possible by the highly sophisticated, modified sphere of a building designed by Foster + Partners in many ways provides a metaphor for the rest the week. What could be seen on the circular runway fed by descending ramps underneath a wall of curving glass would indeed set the tone of what was to come Sunday and the following day. The tone, then was one of unqualified success epitomized by the show opener Odette P and emphasized still by a further half dozen models at Next in the lineup including Gaby Loader, Maja Salamon, Liza O, Hedvig Palm, Vera Van Erp, and Wangy. The collection itself was a colorful affair, florals, lace, the very lightness that makes spring such a lark, and a bellwether of things to come.
