LONDON — Although Monday’s program was less ambitious than Sunday’s wall-to-wall coverage, that did not also mean that dizzying heights were not scaled. The lift at 20 Fenchurch goes to the 35th floor, which opens to Sky Garden, London’s highest public garden, site of the Spring / Summer 2016 runway show by Scottish designer Christopher Kane. The building designed by famed Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly allows for extraordinary views of the British capital…so long the skies aren’t clouded over as they were Monday. Nevertheless, the real views to be had were on the runway and worn by no fewer than nine models at Next including Julia Fleming, Tessa Bruinsma, Olivia Jansing, Gaby Loader, Wangy, Yana Van Ginneken, Maria Clara, Klementyna Dmowska, and Liza O. The colorful collection appropriately hashtagged on Instagram as #crashandrepair, made use of a variety of patterns, materials, colors, geometric shapes, artfully assembled to create a most memorable collection.  The skies will do what they will in London, but the runway Monday afternoon belonged to Christopher Kane.
