PARIS — The entrance to the fourth and final act of the ready-to-wear season in Paris could not be a more welcoming fixture, what with the sheer number of family and friends at Next Paris backstage, front row, and just about everywhere in between. The occasion as it is every season on this inaugural Tuesday evening was the Anthony Vaccarello runway show and his Spring / Summer 2016 vintage did not disappoint. Walking for the talented and beloved designer were no fewer than seven models at Next including Grace Hartzel, Olivia JansingOdette PVera Van ErpLineisy MonteroPiene Burgers, and Binx. The runway presence of these strong  women was accentuated by Vaccarello’s fidelity to the dress slit or as Vogue’s Nicole Phelps put it, the designer “never met a slit he didn’t like.” And why not? Vaccarello has quick eye and deft hand when it comes to creating clothing that unapologetically celebrates women. Front-of-house at La Maison de Radio France, Next President of Europe Saif Mahdhi, Caroline De Maigret, Les Twins, and more were out in full support of the designer who once again got fashion week in the French capital off on a front foot.
