Piracy might not be what it once was, that jaunty, swashbuckling wealth redestribution scheme meted out on the high seas, but that does not mean the waves it once made are not still rippling throughout fashion or for that matter off the coast of Somalia. A Resort 2016 story featuring Briley Jones running in the December 2015 issue of Harper’s Bazaar is a case in point. Photographed by Felix Cooper, this Carine Roitfeld-styled editorial titled “Pirates and Princesses” blurs the distinctions between the two to create a story with a real hook. Briley is at her sharpest wearing Céline (pictured). Pirate, princess, who is to say? The real treasures to be had this season are all Briley’s.
