The December economy is massive. Its enormity is on a scale that makes even large closets substantial only when bundled with billions like them. Drilling down into the holiday season and its many closets this month, then is the December 2015 issue of Vogue Paris in a story featuring none other than Anais Mali photographed by Giampaolo Sgura. Shoes, handbags, and more cover the richly carpeted floors of this holiday gift story, which was styled by Claire Dhelens with set design by Valérie Weill. Arrayed in a mesmerizing pattern, shoes by Gucci fill the frame and are only upstaged by the intoxicating beauty of Anais (pictured), who is pictured holding the receiver of a rotary telephone and wearing a silk dress also by Gucci. The picture color and styling of this shot and the story as a whole hearken back to a freer, more elegant time, one in which holidays were the point and not simply a collection a data points.
