Old Norse poetry finds new expression in the January 2016 issue of Vogue Ukraine in an editorial featuring Sabrina Ioffreda photographed by Agata Pospieszyńska. Styled by Ina Lekiewicz, this story, whose title translates as “Elder Edda,” is indebted to pagan poetry of the same name dating back to 13th century Iceland, not to mention the breathtaking landscapes of the Nordic island nation. Argentinian through and through, Sabrina nevertheless effortlessly transmits the Boho-chic vibe at work in the story’s every frame. Case in point, Sabrina (pictured) wears a Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 dress and is seated on a rocky outcropping amidst a field of weathered timber. Old Norse poems might never be for anyone but medievalists and other scholars. This story Sabrina makes that same material, however not merely comprehensible, but also poetic.
