Clean sheets, a hot shower, and cable TV, motels have plenty to offer. What is more, motels occupy a unique position in the mythology of postwar America as a purpose-built refuge in the ever expanding interstate highway system. The golden era of motels has long past, but its impressions can still be felt as is the case in the February 2016 issue of Harper’s Bazaar España in a spring fashion story featuring Hedvig Palm. Photographed by Nagi Sakai, the Juan Cebrian-styled story titled “Motel Primavera” stays true to its title offering a survey of representative Spring 2016 collections from Bottega Venetta to Louis Vuitton (pictured). Hedvig for her part makes the looks every bit as refreshing as a the first vacancy sign for over a hundred miles in the dead of night.
