For the Spring 2016 Marc Jacobs campaign featuring Anna Cleveland, her legendary mother Pat, and brother Noel, it is simply best to get out of the way and let the designer himself speak. “During the casting process for the campaign, as I began to connect the traces of my New York past with my New York present, I felt it was only natural to ask the entire Cleveland Family to be a part of the campaign,” explains Jacobs in an effusive post made this afternoon on his personal Instagram. The campaign photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand draws from a variety of people who have and continue to inspire the designer himself. To that end, Jacobs recalls his introduction to the Cleveland matriarch, a Halstonette, in 1980. Fast forward a full 35 years later and Anna herself is walking in a show for Marc Jacobs. “Everything about Anna continued to inspire. Her presence and posture helped evolve that [Fall 2015] collection and the show to a level I later could not have imagined achieving without her,” continues the designer in his lengthy caption for Instagram. Model as muse then, now, and forever.
