A mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido…readers of a certain age (ask your grandparents) will no doubt recognize that string of non-sequiturs from the chorus of Nirvana’s platinum single “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The late Kurt Cobain might have been taking the piss on the words to “Teen Spirit,” cramming a bunch of nonsense into what was arguably one of the most important pop songs of the 1990s, but in the March 2016 issue of ELLE UK Erika Linder could not be more earnest in a story by photographer Matt Irwin of the same name. “This is the new grunge for fashion’s rule breakers,” proclaims the opening page of the Grace Cobb-styled story, “Tiara optional.” Erika rightfully claims her tiara, which she wears (pictured) with a green track top by Fila and wool jumper by Coach. As go rule breakers, Erika could not be more unapologetic whether modeling feminine, masculine, or just her plain dazzling self as she does here. Oh well, whatever, never mind…
