NEW YORK — Winter sport in the era of climate change is inevitably tinged with nostalgia, the distant memories of snowcapped mountain peaks and powdery slopes as winters in recent years have struggled to maintain below-freezing temperatures. No surprise, then that Felipe Oliveira Baptista would look to the 1960s and 1970s for inspiration for the so-called “retro-futurism” at work in his Fall / Winter 2016-2017 collection for Lacoste. Hitting the Alpine runway for Lacoste Saturday morning at Spring Studios were Lineisy Montero, Julie Hoomans, Odette Pavlova, and Anna Cleveland. As retro-futuristic as the collection proved, the quartet at Next kept wholly contemporary.
