NEW YORK — Stuart Vevers went hard in the paint for his Coach 1941 Fall 2016 runway show staged at Pier 76. That that location is used by New York Police Department for impounding motor vehicles is a testament to the progressive change the celebrated British designer has brought about since joining the brand two years ago. Tuesday afternoon on a runway designed by Stefan Beckman to resemble the hardwood of a basketball court, a most perfect setting for a collection that drew inspiration from varsity and collegiate sports regalia of yore. No fewer than seven models at Next including Julie Hoomans (pictured), Amalie Moosgaard, Vera Van Erp, Caroline Reagan, Lineisy Montero, Odette Pavlova, and Binx featured on the runway in what was essentially an exercise in running up the score. Swish!
