LONDON — McQueen is back! An already weighty Sunday evening of London Fashion Week was given considerable heft with the return of Alexander McQueen following a 14-year residency in Paris. What is even a loss for Paris, what with its embarrassment of riches when it comes to fashion houses calling it home, is certainly London’s gain. Sarah Burton made what was always going to be fêted occasion ever more so with a collection that glittered with the fruits of what surely was thousands of painstaking hours in the atelier. Walking down the runway at Lawrence Hall were eight models from across the Next network including Grace Hartzel, Vera Van Erp, Ugne Andrijauskaite, Nirvana Naves, Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard, Caroline Reagan, and Anna Andersson. Sunday night in London was a night to remember, a night that like the collection’s inspiration will glimmer in the twinkling light from which dreams are made.
