MILAN — “Yeah,” affirmed Lorena Maraschi, when asked backstage if she would be opening the Prada Fall / Winter 2016 runway show early Thursday evening at via Fogazzaro, 36. That the young Brazilian model on the verge of her Prada exclusive runway debut preceded her response with an unconscious pregnant pause only betrayed the significance of the pending moment. Few occasions in fashion come as steeped in importance as this and yet Lorena was still able to smile and animate her face, her body in a way that both honored what was about to happen and all that had lead up to it. There was a traveler motif present throughout this collection, reportedly meant to evoke the “vagabond” woman, which on the evidence in the appearance of sailor caps, for one,  seems both plausible and prescient, because following this runway show Lorena will surely be on course to travel great distances. Also featuring in this show were Estella Brons, Julie Hoomans, and Lineisy Montero.
