The transition from runway to editorial is by no means a straightforward proposition. Odette Pavlova and Cecilie Moosgaard, however put paid to the notion that rulers of the former can not reign in the latter. Case in point is the March 2016 issue of Vogue Italia in a story by Paolo Roversi in which the pair star. Photographed in luscious monochrome, the portrait series presents a group of seemingly disaffected young people brought together before the master’s lens. The angst is palpable, it simply rolls off the page, and yet is also the catalyst to make this series more deeply resonant than mere trifling beauty. Odette and Cecilie walk the walk during the runway season, but when it comes down to it also command the page with great mastery.
