“We wanted to try to incorporate that spirit when you take the time to sit down and eat with friends,” said Luncheon editor-in-chief Frances von Hofmannsthal speaking with T Magazine. “But it’s not necessarily high-end. It’s meant to be playful and inclusive. The perfect lunch could be eating a jam sandwich on a park bench.” That very spirit is alive and well in a marquee story by Paolo Roversi starring Anna Cleveland running in the inaugural issue of Luncheon. Titled “Blue Witch,” the 12-page story shot in vivid color pictures Anna in a number of blue-hued looks by Comme de Garçons. Whether or not this story would go well with a jam sandwich is neither here nor there, but the fact is Anna Cleveland is well worth the luncheon that has fêted her.
