Memory can be unreliable, no question. But when, erm, wait, where again were we? One person unlikely to forget anything let alone her own fair city is Caroline de Maigret, who features in a story called “I Remember Paris” running in the May 2016 issue of Vogue Japan. Photographed by Jiro Konami, the feature captures in four frames the essence of Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s women’s Spring 2016 Hermès ready-to-wear collection. White (pictured), read, neutral, and navy, were in many ways were the abiding shades of this highly cultivated collection, which come to life worn by the very woman who wrote the book on being Parisian. Never mind what memory has to say about Paris, Caroline de Maigret is living it in this story.
