Gaucho, for any anglophones out there who are unfamiliar, is a Spanish word used to describe someone experienced firsthand in cattle ranching in the pampas of Argentina, Uruguay, or the Southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Today the term, when applied in the circles of high fashion, can mean something smartly styled with a flair that evokes the treeless plains of South America. Enter, Sofía Sanchez de Betak, who is pictured on the cover of the May 2016 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Argentina by photography duo Luciano Val and Franco Musso. The issue marks the fifth anniversary for the publication and to that end, the theme is all Argentina and especially so with Buenos Aires born Sofía who is pictured on the cover wearing a gaucho smart look by Argentinian designer Ramírez.
