Forests cover roughly 30% of the planet and yet account for upwards of half of all plant activity worldwide. Apart from moistening the air we breathe and contributing precious oxygen to the atmosphere, forests are also badass locations for photo shoots. Enter Julie Hoomans, star of this June 2016 Vogue China editorial titled “Shades of Nature” photographed by Benjamin Huseby in a forest outside Berlin in Germany. Julie is bathed in natural light throughout the story, which gives these looks for spring a sensational glow. Without trees there would be no pulp to make paper used to make magazines and without magazines there would no editorials. This line of thinking might not be ecologically let alone logically sound, but all the same the sight of Julie Hoomans on the printed page always a breath of fresh air.
