Leather, metal studs, chrome motorbike…Germany. As go word associations, few nations come to mind sooner than Deutschland when it concerns the sorts of elements that are staples of any Philipp Plein mood board. The June 2016 issue of Vogue Deutch is in lockstep with this Friday afternoon stream of consciousness in a feature on German artist Ophelia Finke featuring none other than Lili Sumner. Posing next to a Yamaha Supersport glazed in metallic silver by the Central Saint Martins graduate, Lili cuts a figure straight out of the Matrix series. This is not feature, however is not about the red pill or the blue pill, this is about the works of a celebrated artist, Lili Sumner, and the intersection of the two. Kunst als Mode, Mode als Kunst.
