There is typically something incendiary about Jeremy Scott’s collections for Moschino, but the American fashion designer’s women’s collection presented back in February literally featured garment details that appeared singed or outright burned. The fire that started on the runway in Milan earlier this year continues in the Moschino Fall / Winter 2016 advertising campaign photographed by Steven Meisel featuring Anna Cleveland amongst others. The campaign broke in the early morning hours on the Instagram of Jeremy Scott and features a composite image of Anna wearing the very gown she wore on the runway standing atop a wrecked automobile swinging a sledge hammer. The violence of the collection was echoed in one of the season’s most ubiquitous accessories, the oversize iPhone case made to resemble a package of Marlboro cigarettes bearing the warning fashion kills. Whether or not the Surgeon General would agree is neither here nor there, but the sight of of Anna Cleveland swinging a heavy hammer for Moschino is downright lethal.
