Surely were he alive today, Sigmund Freud, author of the epochal volume The Interpretation of Dreams (1900) and the grandfather of psychoanalysis, would have something to say about this dreamlike story running in the July 2016 issue of Vogue Italia photographed by Sølve Sundsbø featuring Lili Sumner. The 18-page spread styled by Patti Wilson titled “Dreamy Atmosphere” is most certainly that, dreamy, atmospheric, and altogether otherworldly. The dramatic use of light, motion, and parabolic distortion (think fisheye), make this story something heretofore unseen and thereafter wholly unforgettable. Lili for her part is central to this passion, shining, glimmering, every bit the Art Deco goddess she is shown to be. Have a puff of that cigar, Siggie, and drink in this dreamy atmosphere.
