Selena Forrest and Proenza Schouler have a history that stretches back to September of last year. Nearly a year ago, the Louisiana native made her runway debut by opening the Proenza Schouler Spring 2016 show. Selena went on to feature in the corresponding advertising campaign, a role which she today reprised for Fall 2016 according to WWD. Photographed by Zoë Ghertner and styled by Marie Chaix, the campaign was shot in Los Angeles and features Selena amongst others posing on ladders in an around industrial parking lots framed by foliage. “Themes of control and release in its many forms were explored, as were references that influenced the collection’s development, namely that of American art of the Sixties and Seventies,” said Jack McCollough speaking to WWD“Mostly, however, the aim was to capture an attitude of complete individualism, strength and a celebration of diverse beauty that feels deeply relevant in today’s world,” said Lazaro Hernandez. As individualism goes, Selena is not only a member, she’s a veritable president, one whose reign looks firmly in tact for Proenza Schouler.
