Can’t hurt you now, can’t hurt you now, can’t hurt you now… Readers of a certain age (ask your grandparents) of a certain age will almost instinctively know the line that follows and will no doubt recognize its use as the title in this David Sims story running in the September 2016 issue of Vogue featuring none other than Grace Hartzel. “Because the Night,” as this story is so triumphantly titled, borrowing of course from the 1977 single written by Patti Smith and Bruce Springstreen, surveys the wild streak coursing through the many richly textured, ultra-feminine fabrics in use for autumn. Grace (pictured) opens the story wearing a silk-velvet jacket and lace pant by Giorgio Armani and finished with a choker (because 2016) by Acne Studios. Sing it loud, sing it proud, because the night belongs to us!
