Black clothing, it’s no longer only for funerals, said no one in fashion ever. The September 2016 issue of Vogue Paris trains its editorial nous on a more graphic, more sexy, and certainly brighter black than anything those fashionably fashionable have been draping themselves in since our cave dwelling ancestors learned to stain animal skins with the ashy remains of fire pits. Grace Elizabeth and Mathilde Brandi star in this 10-page story by photographed by Claudia Knoepfel. Grace (pictured) wears a strong lip throughout the story, which together with an all black ensemble calls to mind the sort of strictly irresistible beauties cast in many a Robert Palmer music video in the late 1980s (ask your grandparents). Simple, unembellished, but devastating in its delivery, this is an irresistible beauty at which the likes of which Grace Elizabeth so clearly excels.
