MILAN — The spring ready-to-wear season in Italy’s fashion capital got off on a front foot Wednesday afternoon at the Alberta Ferretti runway show closed by none other than Grace Hartzel. She was also joined on the catwalk by seven other models from across the Next network including Odette Pavlova, Grace Elizabeth, Marjan Jonkman, Alanna Arrington, Ava Dahlem, Leila Golkuhl, and Lia Pavlova. Wednesday had proven to be something of a red letter day for Grace after earlier breaking news announcing her November 2017 cover of Vogue Japan photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, which comes only days after her cover of Vogue Korea for October was issued. All is in day’s work for Grace, who is a breath of life in the so often attritional runway season. As for the collection, the pieces were delicate, feminine, and the living embodiment of all that Alberta sought to honor when she began designing collections in the early 1970s. That Grace closed the show all but puts a red exclamation mark on the collection.
