PARIS — Speculation has been mounting as to what sort of Dior would emerge following Maria Grazia Chiuri’s appointment as creative director. Her reputation as a couturier is beyond repute, which makes the dashes of street wear and unbridled logo mania throughout her maiden collection for the house all the more exciting. No one would call this collection too precious and yet one would have been forgiven for thinking it could be considering her longstanding tenure alongside Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino for so many years. There was a edge to this collection, as if the embroidered swords and fencing leitmotif did not altogether shout this to the heavens Friday afternoon at Musée Rodin. On the afternoon a half dozen models from across the Next network featured in the runway show including Marjan Jonkman, Maria Clara, Lorena Maraschi, Selena Forrest, Grace Hartzel, and Ava Dahlem.
