This past summer Selah Marley landed a role in the Calvin Klein #mycalvins advertising campaign, thereby introducing her to a global audience. Daughter of Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley, granddaughter of the late Bob Marley, she is something of musical royalty. For the November 2016 issue of L’Uomo Vogue, then Selah fittingly holds court landing a place on the cover and the corresponding story by photographer Cass Bird and stylist Michael Philouze. The editorial portraits are shot with Bird’s signature intimacy, which provide an inviting counterpoint to the high gloss treatment she has otherwise enjoyed on the advertising side. All told, this month’s cover story shot in New York City more than delivers on its headline promise of serving up unique people and unconventional places.
