The afterglow from the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show can still be felt more than a week out and perhaps no stronger than from Grace Elizabeth. The Sunshine State native was positively incandescent on the night and has likely had all and sundry clamoring in the dark for a light switch in the interim. There is a light at the end of this long dark tunnel, however in the January 2017 issue of Vogue Deutsch in a beauty story by photographer Camilla Åkrans. Water figures prominently throughout 14-page story to serve as a powerful visual metaphor for a story committed to intensive moisturizing. That 71 percent of the planet’s surface is covered in water helps explain the abundance of life on Earth, but leave it to Grace Elizabeth to possess a beauty that altogether defies rational explanation and instead prompts sheer wonderment.
