Longevity is not a state that could be said to be in abundance in high fashion. The direction the winds of change blow in this industry are often sought by raising a wet index finger to the nearest air-conditioning duct. Exceptions of course do exist and none more so than the house of Fendi, where Karl Lagerfeld has been its creative director for a half century. To celebrate der Kaiser’s 50 years at Fendi, the Winter 2016 issue of i-D is running an all-Fendi story featuring Selena Forrest. Shot in Miami by Matteo Montanari, Selena shows a sultry side of the Roman house, which she does effortlessly after having walked for them on the runway no fewer than three times alone in 2016. Selena looks Fendi through and through for her part, which is a no less fitting tribute to the designer who has left his indelible mark on the house and just about everything else he does.
